Bustin Brooklyn is now stocking a full selection of high-rebound “Reflex Formula” Bushings. Three shapes and eight different durometers to mix and match to dial in the perfect rebound for the longboard trucks we offer in house (Bear, Randal, Paris, Crail, Gullwing, Independent). Bushings will soup up the performance of every board using standard and reverse kingpin bushing stabilized trucks. The durometer range is 74a-95a short/tall cone and barrel shapes. Old school setups will support short cone bushings and newer reverse kingpin trucks ride well with combos of small/tall/barrel bushings to make trucks looser or more stiff. Recently my brother, Brian Davenport, and I spent some time in europe. We got to do a lot of great skating in a lot of great cities.  I spent most of my time in Paris, France and just like anywhere you skate for very long you inevitably meet the local skaters.  I was so lucky that a guy contacted me via my youtube page (travisdsupervilan) and told me he had seen me skating in the streets in paris and told me about the weekly board meeting for the local scene, which happened to be at the base of the Eiffel Tower.

It was a beautiful place to spend the evening, there’s  a nice small hill and lots of room for flat land fun, but more importantly about thirty skaters showed up with all different styles and boards.  Through the language barrier we managed to get a good feel about Paris longboarding; the scene, history, companies, skaters, events…….. The city is so ripe for Push Culture and I believe its just about to explode.  There are a lot of skaters but its still very unusual to run into another one on the streets.  It seems that the only thing holding back the market is retail issues.  For whatever reason sports and skate shops carry very few options of longboards and they generally start at 200 euro and do go well over 300 euro.  That exchanges to about 300 to 500 dollars for a board.  And that’s just not fair to our Euro bros and sisters.

So……long story short; I met these two guys in the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_d3L5PtLBC8) that night at Trocadero.  From what I can tell Marvin Thine and Antoine Badin (aka mastaflex @ widiwici.com) are two of the most stoked riders in France!  I am happy to announce that they are going to be one of the main French connections for Bustin Boards!  We are working with them on wholesale to France right now and hope to have boards in shops by the spring.  We hope this relationship will mean that riders in France will have more choices and better prices, encouraging more skating worldwide!
