Boards 4 Brats-Concrete Kings NYC

written by Team Rider February 14, 2012

Solomon here. Along my trip the encounters I was most touched by were with underprivileged youth. All of in Georgia which had even more meaning for me as this is where I grew up. Brooklyn has had a big part in the creation of the present day me but GA laid the foundation. I have hopes of continuing something in GA and abroad but plan on being based out of BK. A majority of my time was spent with youth and on a few occasions I was told that they had the “best day of their life”..wow! I was always torn when I had to leave to my next destination and the kids begged me not to go. Taking away my board from them was just as hard and seeing how much they were inspired to do something positive/different than what their environment dictated I could not stop from promising a few boards.

If I could get the community to help out with board components I and these kids would truly appreciate it. Whether it be a used(or new) deck, bearings, wheels, spacers..whatever. I personally have no need for these things as I am most fortunate to have such awesome supporters but you all will have a great impact on these kids present day and most likely their future. I definitely have plans on starting a separate NPO but I would like to give these kids something soon and help them stay motivated and out of trouble. Again any and all help is greatly appreciated. If you are in the NYC area I can either meet you to pick up said gear or it can be dropped of at the Longboard Loft with notes to be left for Boards 4 Brats. If you are out of town and can afford to have it shipped email me at concretekingsnyc@gmail.com and I will provide you with an address.
