Boobs on Boards – Bustin Longboards NYC

written by Bubbles October 24, 2011

Among all the Halloween debauchery, it sometimes seems like this time of year is wholly dedicated to sin.  Not that we’re complaining at all!  We just thought that an awareness event on the weekend of mischief was an awesome idea, so with that in mind, we’d like to direct your attention to Saturday’s Boobs on Boards event, hosted by Maribeth McHugh withSheRed Magazine.  Thanks MB for the tip-off to this awesome event!!!

“October marks the month for breast cancer awareness. In our efforts for the cause we are collaborating and coordinating a casual female skate session (of course, guys are welcomed) with the event host, Maribeth Mchugh. Maribeth is a vibrant Bustin Team Rider, Long Distance Racer, athlete, and skateboard instructor in New York City. The course/path will run through parts of the city to promote/educate others about the cause and preventative health precautions. We want to utilize our skills, connections, and passion for the sport as a vehicle to create awareness about the topic while spreading the stoke about the growing sport. We will be contributing to the community by skating for a good cause and promoting healthy/ preventative measures.

Our target demographic are females from ages 12-35, but we want to invite/ educate people of all ages, genders and skill levels to join us where free products and services will be raffled to particpants. The event will be held Saturday October 29, 2011 at 11am in New York City, starting at Columbus Circle and ending at the “Bandshell” near 72nd street of Central Park. After the meet and greet gathering at Columbus Circle the group will casually skate part of Central Park towards the Bandshell where different skate related events, contests and clinics will be held. Products and services from Loaded, Fireball, Organic Hogwash, FEPiC, Skanunu, SURE Skateboards, Push Culture, Bustin, Longboard Loft, and Uncle Funky’s will be given as raffle prizes. The event can be promoted through different social media platforms of the sponsoring brands to create further awareness about the cause and event.”
