Brooklyn State of Mind

written by TeamBustin March 22, 2014

It’s been quite some time since I’ve written a blog but spring is here and my creative flow is beginning to thaw with the long awaited rising temperatures. I’m not going outside shirtless yet…but for a lot of people “cuffing” season is over.  We celebrated the spring equinox with our annual Bustin Brooklyn Spring Push.  Bustin riders and NYC skate family met here at the shop for a quick street session before skating the Williamsburg Bridge into the city.  Throughout the day we had a crew of about 30 riders mobbing city streets and posting up at parks between sprints!

The crew kept skating but it was back to Brooklyn for me.  I was meeting up with Bustin OG crew Nat2Legit along with Brian and Travis Davenport.  My homegirl Tanisha Long, who happens to be on MTV’s Girl Code,  was doing stand-up comedy at FADA here in Williamsburg; it was a perfect opportunity to support her and catch my friends up with all the stories from my month long trip to China!

I greatly enjoyed experiencing culture of China and the skate community there made me feel like family from day one. I left a piece of my heart in Shanghai but Brooklyn is still home.  And I’m stoked to be hitting the streets again with my Bustin fam.  Hopefully a lot of you will be visiting NYC this summer and we would love for you to drop in and say hello.  This is your home as well and we would love to shred with you!
