**RAT ROD APPROVED!!!
The ancient art of Yoga stretching is the perfect solution to the repetitive motion of longboard pushing. Beginning Saturday October 2nd @ 4:30, Namaste Yoga Studio (adjacent to the Bustin Store in Brooklyn, New York) is hosting YOGA FOR THE SKATER. The zen masters next door have been observing our movement for the past year and have developed a stretch program that will target our neglected/overworked muscle groups. The class will begin at 4:30p on Saturday October 2nd & Saturday October 9th. The two sessions will improve your performance for the Broadway Bomb 2010 on Oct. 16. The Push Culture core muscles are vital for distance skating and the Yoga sessions will focus on the “twist” motion that heppens when we push. The spinal cavity often needs re-adjustment by proper core muscle stimulation to release lactic acid deep in the muscle tissue and to center your spinal cord for ultimate body performance. Skateboard pushing achieves the human body’s vital purpose – standing forward movement. The human body is the most efficient skeletal/muscle structure in the animal kingdom for standing, forward movement and long distances. Example: The Kenyan 26 mile Marathon running record is 2 hours 3 minutes & The warriors 26 mile Longboard Race NYC also finished 2 hours 3 minutes….
The Broadway Bomb will be fun for most and very competitive for some. I suggest you join the Rat Rod crew and consider:
