NYC Street Crew – 2016, Year in Review

Posted by on Dec 21, 2016 in bustin photography, bustin skateboards, NYC Street Report, Reviews, Video

Andy Millien, always Bustin out the Fresh Grip Art for his decks.

With 2016 coming to a close I dove into what I do at the end of each year. Start making space for the future by clearing out my phone and camera of old photos and video clips. Before I hit delete I make it a point to repost some of the year’s highlights all in one place as a small time marker of current skate culture and style.

Enjoy the video and photos. 2016 was epic in NYC Skateboarding. 2017 is looking even better.

Filming & Edit by Rob Rodrigues with additional filming from Prince Lang and Bustin Street Crew Friends.

New York Bustin OG’s Leon Vincent-Vialva, David Anders and Victor Epifaneo are the true epitomy of Push Culture NYC.  They live on their boards, going from work to school to the deli to the skate park.  It’s life in NYC, and it’s where we came from!

Enjoy some clips from a recent outing on their Sportster boards.

Local Kid On The Rise!

brooklyn_skateboarding

17 year old  Loy Feliciano is a Williamsburg Brooklyn skater that has been putting in some work.  He frequents Bustin’s Brooklyn shop and works in Greenpoint over at East River Skate Shop.

Loy recently had a gnarly foot surgery and has been focused on healing. He just got the go ahead from his doctor & surgeon to start skating again.  I met up with him last week for a quick photo session and we snapped this Frontside Boardslide pic at the Williamsburg Bridge Plaza. He’s ready to dive back in full force.

We are stoked to start bringing Loy into the Bustin Street Crew and Bustin Boards Family. 2017 is looking good and Loaded with New Potential.

We recently started bringing Philly Street Skater and college student Matt Toohey into the Bustin Family as part of our expanding NorthEast team. He was injured earlier this year but has just been given the ok to start skating again. We are looking forward to having him back at full strength soon and pairing him up with our media crew for future projects. Bustin Loves Philly.

Checkout below a few Matt Facts and his pre-injury Retro Flava video part.

Age:19
School: Art Institute of Philadelphia
Major: Photography
Degree: Bachelor
Surgery to Repair: Torn acl and both meniscus
How I got injured: I was skating a gap warming up with an ollie thought I was going to hit the end of the gap. When I bailed and landed on the end of the gap with my knee turned the other way, my knee popped. Next stop was the emergency room.
