Who runs the New York Longboard Association? Who is this and who comprises this group exactly please?

Why is Bustin Boards promoting this race on this blog, your place of business? Does Bustin Boards have anything at all to do with the planning, execution, responsibility for this race in Central Park June 4th, high noon?

Is there registration? Is there insurance? Will the The Central Park Conservancy be notified? If not why not?

12 noon on a Summer Saturday is not an appropriate time to run a race with no permit nor insurance at max in Central Park. The worst time imaginable. Thousands of fellow citizens and thousands of city guests will be quietly meandering about not expecting racers that are going full out with no intentions of stopping for anything.

Please consider changing this start time or getting permission. 10pm is about right. This will allow for similar safe conditions as were had at the Prospect Park race this winter. An empty park and a safe race course.

What puts skateboarders above the law of respect and decency? I’m just not getting something here? 50 years ago and beyond in all of history people of a one variety placed themselves far and above people of another variety, with more rights and privileges for no other reason then pure ignorance.

Now skateboarders put themselves outside the laws of respect and decency. “We want to race on public space when ever the heck we want.. everyone else has to ask for permission and get a permit and insurance, but we, we are skateboard outlaws and we do as we please and run outlaw and a business under the same banner.”

Stand forward Bustin as a company and make your claims to the promotion of this race straight forward and public. Are you or are you not promoting this and who the heck is this New York LongBoard Association? Why on earth and how could you ever imagine that 12 noon summer is a good time to run a full on race in the middle of the Park with no permit at all and no insurance?

Has this blog lost it’s moderator? If I had a baby today as some of my friends just have and I was strolling in the park at noon on a Saturday and then if by chance my baby and I were struck by a person racing in a premeditated event that was planned and published far in advance and if my baby were to be killed in such a foreseeable accident I would be greatly and deeply saddened and I would wonder how short sighted and selfish that my baby had been put in harms way by some one so immature as to not be able to admit to the foreseeable danger of such a tragic outcome of racing full out at noon in the middle of Central Park, NYC with no permit, nor insurance nor even the decency of marshals alerting the public that they were coming. But of course if I knew that my baby, my baby, was safe at home with it’s mother. Then I suppose I would care less about other peoples babies as long as mine was home safe.

Everyone chill the hell out and just go longboarding.
there are risks involved with this, but that is what you agree to when you step on a longboard.

I have 74mm longboard wheels on my skateboard. My broke ass can’t afford a longboard. Can I race or do I need a longboard?

hey, Just wondering what last years winning times were. I in no way think I can compete with the top, just curious how far off I am when timing a similar route in my area.
