written by Mike May 31, 2010
Race season is HERE!  The first NYC LONGBOARD event of 2010 is the epic Central Park Race.  One loop around Central Park’s beautiful man made bike path. This is the 15th anniversary of the race, lets do it right!

Meet: 11:00am at 59th St Columbus Circle @ the big statue (Southwest corner of Central Park)

Start: 12:00pm, listen for the start – do not start until Ian Nichols says “GO”

Finish:  59th street pedestrian entrance of Central Park.  Skate one full  6.5 mile lap around the CP pedestrian/bike path, no shortcuts. Spectators expect the winner to finish the race in 21-22 minutes while the rest of the skate pack may finish in 25-40minutes.  Bring noise makers, loud outside voices, bright colors, signs, video cameras, still cams, music, etc.  Lets make this a BIG DEAL for the skaters and curious public!!!  Central park is awesome!!!
Other CP Race weekend details:

Friday Night Rip
Friday, June 4th – 7pm  Prospect Park, Brooklyn  Slide Fest and Wheelies + a smooth 4.5 mile course.
Take the F Train to 15 street, skate into the park, turn right on the bike path and you’ll find gnarly skaters.
