NYC Push Race….The Mini-Bomb!!

written by TeamBustin June 30, 2010

Solomon here. First I want to apologize for such a long break since my last post. Every month lately we have had our best month ever so things are continually moving around the shop. I’m on it now, Word.

Now on to our regularly scheduled program….

Clear the streets…..the Kings are coming! Concrete Kings All Day!!!! That’s right, I’m stoked! We have less than two weeks before the Concrete Kings NYC Longboarding Club host their first annual longboard push race dubbed the “Mini-Bomb”. On Saturday July 10th meet for six miles of non-stop, heart-pumping  concrete surfing! My adrenaline is building just thinking about it! I have been telling everyone that comes in the shop and whomever I see on the street. They are stoked!

The starting line is the actual intersection at 116th and Broadway. The crazy push uphill of the Broadway Bomb starts is one of the defining moments unique to that race and by starting at the top we might reduce some of the starting line chaos. After leaving 116th continue down Broadway until making a left on 72nd and following that street into Central Park. Merge into the Central Park Loop until you exit at 7th Avenue and 59th Street to 5th Avenue where you will make a right. You will stay on 5th until it intersects with Broadway at 23rd Street and then follow Broadway to the intersection of Union Square East @15th Street. The top three finishers will receive cash prizes of $100, $60 and $30 with lots of other schwag to be handed out.

After the race we will skate a few blocks to an undisclosed location where we will grill and hand out prizes. There will be plenty enough space to skate around and you will still be in the heart of NYC. We have quite a few sponsors than include but are not limited to Bern, Original, Landyachtz, Arbor and Bustin. Come get some!
