Outer Banks Boarding Co is a special place on the Outer Banks (North Carolina) as far as the board sports culture goes. In the greater Outer Banks area there are 8 skate parks open to the public, tons of backyard ramps with the occasional full DIY park, ocean front vacation home pools, designed to be skated in the off season, and hidden little hills to bomb.
Outer Bank culture is ingrained with board sports of every kind. OBBC has been a part of that since 2002 but the owner, Lynn Shell, had been shaping surfboards since the mid 70’s and is till going strong. However with OBBC and local heritage being so surf oriented it has shaped our skate scene as well. A lot of our customers at OBBC are more focused on skating transitions and sidewalk surfing because of that.
But there is still something for everyone to skate. The parks try to add some features you wont find in the mostly rural Outer Banks. Also, tucked away from the ocean front are a few small hills to bomb and slash. Bustin’s NY Push series and Cruiser series really fit well with skaters on the Outer Banks, and Bustin is proud to be partners with OBBC. The knowledgeable and passionate staff really make this shop a great experience, every visit.
The next time your in their area, make sure to stop by, ask for Allen, and tell them Dave from Bustin sent ya!
