Downhill Skateboarding is a world wide affair, and the need for speed has been growing and spreading throughout more and more of South Africa’s provinces. It always puts a smile on my face to learn about a growing community of downhill skaters, located in a distant reach of the earth. I Especially like it when they are organizing a National Downhill Championship.
SAGRA or the South African Gravity Racing Association has been a huge driving force in South Africa’s efforts towards a pro-level racing circuit!
Since 2010 Juniors have had their own division in the South African National Championship, and in 2013 Bustin Team Rider Henry “Chomper” Muller made himself a regular on the podium. 3rd place at Faircape , 1st place at Houwteq , 1st place at Riding Road Mountains, 3rd place at High Rising Downhill Xtreme, and Henry secured a National Championship gold with a 1st place finish at the final race, Hot Heels Africa! Congratulations “Champer” ! That’s your new nickname now!
