“We’re old – 19 years old to be exact. We sold our first skateboard and snowboard on November 10, 1995 out of our 700 sq ft shop in Portland, Oregon. We fell in love with longboarding in 1999 and have been selling them ever since to hundreds of thousands of customers ALL OVER THE WORLD. Today, Daddies is the largest longboard shop in the world. Really. We have a good time here at Daddies. But we take our work seriously. Longboarders have graciously rewarded us for our efforts by voting Daddies the 2012 and 2013 Best Online Longboard Shop.”
Filming in the City Steets
This month’s compilation of 15 second Instagram videos
The NYC Crew has been pushing themselves and filming a lot recently. Everyone has committed themselves to stepping up to the next level. We’re trying to collect as much footage as possible during the warmer months for future releases.
If you know about street skating, you know that it’s brutal. The riders are often trying to nail new stuff at new spots and it can take a ton of tries to get it right. Not to mention the beating these guys take while getting there. Many times you get the shot set up and the rider get’s ramped to make it up just as security or the Five-O shows up to chase you away. That happened a few times last weekend.
Crushing it on Cruisers
You can rip through the streets with ease on a cruiser board and kick your skate game on the same setup. Check out Andy Millien with the gnarly grind on the Modela 33″ and Jesse Whalen mid truck stand on the YF 32″ with 64mm Five-O wheels.
“Don’t let your meat loaf, cause you’ll fall behind.”
We’re all about progression and Skate Everything here in NYC.
The footage is in and these boards have been put to the test!
Between our team riders and awesome customers, we’ve been hearing a lot about these two families of boards, and the buzz is where the honey’s at! The Boomboxes are taking over, Steven Vera and Clark Patrick have been putting the 38″ through the paces and we’ve been hearing nothing but love from they who have stood on it. And the PRO has been labeled a “tank” by many and we’ve seen them setup for just about anything.
Toti’s new video by PerroPro shows both in action.
The Modelas have been thrashing away as well! I’ve caught some 33’s on the hill at some slide jams this season and the 26″ kills it for sticking tight lines in the city. Andy Millien, Eddie Henriquez, Steven Vera, and David Aparicio drop some hammers on both sizes in this video as well!
Ramping Up for Spring
It’s been a tough winter in the northeast for all things skateboarding. With better weather around the corner, we have cleared out our camera memory cards, put the old stuff online and are loading up on some new stoke.
In addition to our ongoing Bustin video productions, this year we are diving into incresed product and rider coverage with a regular series of raw & thrashy hardcore videos from the streets of NYC. This will be a great chance to give video coverage to everyone of our riders in the metro area. Expect great exposure with fresh faces and all the Bustin decks. Everything shred worthy.
Steven Vera has been working hard for the last two years. Working hard at getting his skating and himself places. Now his skating is starting to take him places.
Steven just returned from a week in Florida. Bustin sent him there along with team mate Eddie Henriquez and our video crew. The two New York area locals went down to Miami to film for the upcoming Bustin Modela video. The whole crew just returned, pretty refreshed and stoked about the new footage.
The latest word is that Vera is heading out to LA in March. He will be out there for a couple of weeks filming video and doing some trick tips for Orangatang Wheels. His west coast trip will be topped off at the 2014 Downhill Disco.

Stay tuned for the Modela and other upcoming video releases.
