The biggest source of inspiration I have to become a better skater is being able to watch all the other local skaters get better right outside our very own window at the Bustin shop. Solomon and I are going to be showcasing some of these riders over the coming weeks/months, and I wanted to start with one of the most inspiring to me, personally–Mr. Justin Hopwood. He is heading out of town tomorrow until some time in January, and I wanted to be sure to catch some words from him before he left, because he is sure to be an entirely different skater next time I see him. This guy has progressed faster than any other skater I’ve seen around here. He is seriously learning new tricks on the daily. Coming down our small slope in front of the shop, you can find this guy sliding in all directions, hands down, hands up, nose manuals to shuvits, and working on his big spin. He looks like a seasoned rider. I’ll let him explain the rest:
JV: Please state your name for the record.
JH: Justin Hopwood aka Hoppers.
JV: Is that accent real or do you just use it for the ladies? Where are you from?
