#TeamBustin riders Pearce D’arcy and Brodie Owens rip around after hours at a local favorite. Ride along as they tackle some of the best terrain Ireland has to offer on some of the best skateboards suited for the job.
You’ve glimpsed it once or twice over the past couple years, whether in the background of an instagram post, or a new video on the youtubes, or under the feet of one of our riders (probably Max B!) So now that we’ve officially announced the name and existence of the upcoming Max Ballesteros board – The Shotgun, I think it’s safe to talk about it’s production.
I’m particularly excited about this new board because I, Bubbles, will personally be pressing each and every single one of these boards in our warehouse in Baltimore, MD. Bubs the Builder in earnest!
Hollow core panels are cut, we’ve pre-fabricated all of our FRP topsheets, and we’re stocked up on cross and long grain maple veneers, time to rock and roll!
We’ve got the 2 pressing bays up and running and I’ve already started to churn out panels ready to be sent over to the CNC machine for cutting before final hand-sanding and a graphic treatment (also done in house by our phenomenal paint department). Only thing left is a bunch of late nights and sand-papery hands and these downhill monsters will FINALLY be ready to drop into the hands of the masses – you’re welcome, now let me get back to pressing boards!
Today on “What’s Your Setup?”, we bring you the inner workings of the hill crusher currently under the feet of one of our pro-riders – Downhill Demon, Max Ballesteros. So we reached out to Max and asked him what he was riding currently.
The Bustin Shotgun board. Our upcoming (I know, but really, this spring!) downhill Pro Model for Max himself!
Ronin Pro Lite 154mm 45° / 30° trucks. This setup gives him the advantage of being able to ride any hill he wants with little effort. Max rides his trucks split and with a narrow hanger for full stability and grip.
His grip and Built-in Ceramic bearings come from Hondar.
Thanks for joining us as we visit Max and his personal arsenal of choice. Check in next week and we’ll take a look at what’s under the feet of another skateboarder out in the world. Send us your setups, tag #BustinSetup, and we could feature yours in an upcoming segment!
