The New EQ – Bustin Boards NYC

written by Bubbles May 11, 2015

For this year we’ve re-re-released the EQ in a whole new iteration.  2014 saw the move away from the rocker / drop profile of the original EQ and the addition of our Honey-Comb Hollow-Core tech to greatly reduce weight.  The new mould featured an elliptical W-cave in the center of the deck, a progressive radial concave that worked with the W-bubble to create a slightly rockered platform, with a peaked waist for added strength.

In 2015 we’re upping our ante once more and have fine-tuned the EQ to perfectly fit ours and our rider’s idea of the perfect speed machine.  The drop, concave, and W-bubble are all slightly steeper – giving your feet more geometry to work with and feel around in.  More, smaller, wheelbase options allow the EQ to be set-up for straight speed or to rail and grip any corner it comes across; matched with larger CNC’d wheelwells and you’ll find clearance for days on most set-ups.  Finally a re-examined Hollow-Core panel reduces more weight and maintains more strength than the 2014 patterns.  The new new EQ is here.

The EQ is designed to go fast – so you’re going to want to set it up to compliment that prowess.  Go for a lower angle truck in the mid 40° range (Caliber 44’s, Paris 43’s, or Ronins are all AWESOME) in order to provide the most stability.  Paired with a set of Five 0 Sniper-R’s and you’ve got speed and grip for days.

And hopefully it goes without saying, but a helmet is HIGHLY recommend with a board like this, skateboarding is dangerous and the EQ has a need for speed – skate within your limits!

Talking Points

[box]HONEYCOMB HOLLOWCORE: The chambered body helps to signifigantly reduce weight while maintaining strength.  Inspired by BEES!

[box]RADIAL MICRO-DROP: A 0.33” radial drop creates a more stable feel, without sacrificing any leverage.  The perfect medium.

[box]ELLIPTICAL W-CAVE: Concave subtly bends to create an ergonomic, broad w shape that doesn’t cramp your style while pushing, but won’t let you go when it hits the fan.

[box]WAIST CONCAVE – Steeper concave in the waist adds strength and stiffness for more speed!

[box] ADJUSTABLE WHEELBASE OPTIONS – Tighten up for grip runs, or push it all the way out for increased slideways motion!
